Title: RCA UX-216-B Tube Box
Item: [UX216-BOX] $5.00
This is the box only (no tube). The box was for the RCA UX-216-B Rectifier Tube.
The box has a torn flap and an oil stain (see the pictures).
The UX-216-A tube was developed by GE in 1924. It was later renamed to the UX-216-B to prevent confusion
with the Western Electric 216A. It used a tungsten filament.
The type 81 rectifier is often used as a substitute as the UX-216 is extremly rare (and thus expensive if you can even find one).
The type 81 has similar characteristics, but has a coated filament instead.
